Advent 2020: The Love of Faithfulness by Valerie Graham Younge

“For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear. ‘Consider carefully what you hear,’ he continued. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.”

-Mark 4:22-24

The Love of Faithfulness

Father, I trust in you as I am standing here on this riverbank, grief stricken with more sorrow than I can bear. However, for faithfulness I stand in glory! The mercy and grace that you wrap us in is more anointing than the cooling water that freely flows in the love, justice and righteousness we still seek.

Change our plans loving Father; break us from ideological plantations, shackles and chains we still hold. Separate from the stench of COVID-19 lays a deliverance of medicines and sciences having no prescription against Your Will!

Dear Lord! We are your children, growing in your garden, and accepting the bouquet you select daily of loved ones we cherish. All kingdoms’ legislations kneel as your solar system with constellations showers us with crystals favored in love. Blessed in the eyes of your spirits, lions stand guard against evil.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for forgiveness through the birth of the baby, born to a virgin mother, who became the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.

“Is there anything too hard for God?” (Genesis 18:14)

Advent 2020

Join us in a time of reflection, anticipation, and contemplation during the season of Advent 2020.

Each day a new reflection with a scripture and prayer will be posted on the Metropolitan AME Church website and social media to encourage you to hear the words of those reflecting, anticipating, and contemplating with you in community as we thank God for what God has done, notice what God is actively doing and anticipate what God will do next.

Read along with us each day or download the book to read and write along with us offline. Chart and journal for yourself what God has done, what God is doing, and what God is illuminating for you in this season.
