"Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water."

The Gift that Keeps Giving
When I was younger, I loved all-day suckers. I would lick and lick until my tongue was raw, my face was sticky, and I was dying of thirst from the sugar. After getting a drink of water, I would start again on the sucker with the same results and needing to get water to quench my thirst.
In the scripture, Jesus offers the Samaritan woman water that would satisfy her thirst forever. This gift is offered to her free of charge and without any conditions. This gift would last all day and forever.
We, the Christian body, should introduce this thirsty world to this everlasting water offered through Jesus, Who have you offered this gift to today?
Prayer
Almighty God, we seek the gift that lasts forever, the everlasting water of Jesus. Help us to guide this thirsty world to this life-saving water.

Advent 2021
Join us in a time of reflection, expectation, and contemplation during the season of Advent 2021.
Each day a new reflection with a scripture and prayer will be posted on the Metropolitan AME Church website and social media to encourage you to hear the words of those reflecting, anticipating, and contemplating with you in community as we thank God for what God has done, notice what God is actively doing and anticipate what God will do next.
Read along with us each day or download the book to read and write along with us offline.
