Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Love and Peace Unit of the Sarah Allen Missionary Society is planning to continue its 35 plus year tradition of giving Christmas gifts to children in the DMV community. We will be supporting children from both Metropolitan Church’s Food Bank and Prison Ministry, Safe Shores, The TraRon Center, Life Pieces to Masterpieces, Black Student Fund, DC Public Schools, and Soothing Souls.
This year, instead of the Angel Tree project of years past, we will give each child gift cards valued at $50 rather than actual presents. We are asking the congregation and friends of Metropolitan to support us by purchasing gift cards or making a financial donation to the project so that we can support the 200 plus children currently on our list.
Here is how you can help:
Purchase *gifts cards in $25 or $50 increments (e.g., Visa, American Express, Target, Walmart, etc.)
Make a donation. No amount is too big or too small. Checks may be made out to the Love and Peace Unit of MAMEC.
