Advent 2021: The Season of Hope and Promise by Maria Wallace
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

The Season of Hope and Promise
The past eighteen months have been emotionally and mentally draining for everyone. I’ve tried to maintain some sense of sanity with daily affirmations to friends, social action and community service projects. All of that while teleworking and going through somber periods of loss. I’ve stayed away from distractions that didn’t warrant attention and focused on the joys of life and the season of hope and promise I know will come.
For this Advent season in anticipation of Christ’s birth, focus your heart and mind on this prayer…
Robert R. & Ora B. Kelly Lay Organization
Join us in a time of reflection, expectation, and contemplation during the season of Advent 2021.
Each day a new reflection with a scripture and prayer will be posted on the Metropolitan AME Church website and social media to encourage you to hear the words of those reflecting, anticipating, and contemplating with you in community as we thank God for what God has done, notice what God is actively doing and anticipate what God will do next.
Read along with us each day or download the book to read and write along with us offline.
