“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

This Birth Was For Us
Jesus’ birth was foretold and recorded years before the historic night in Bethlehem. Isaiah 7:14 prophesied Jesus’ mother will be a virgin. “. . . the Lord himself shall give a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive by the Holy Spirit and bear a son and shall call him Immanuel (“God is with us”). He would save his people from their sin. This was God’s message through the prophet --- Jesus will come from the line of Abraham, a descendent of Isaac and Jacob, and will be from the lineage of King David. Since Isaiah of Jerusalem, Jeremiah and Micah were contemporaries they shared many of the same prophecies regarding the birth of Jesus that are fulfilled in the Gospels as reported by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
O Bethlehem you are but a small Judean village, yet you will be the birthplace of my King who is alive from everlasting ages past. - Micah 5:2-4.
While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. - Luke 2: 6.
But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. - Galatians 4: 4-5.
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us full of grace and truth. -John 1:14
Prayer
