"I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.”
- Psalm 13:6
Advent Day 23
December 19, 2022
God's Love
Giving thanks to God for keeping my family, friends, and me safe and secure from all alarm. Life and living have been challenging over these last few years of coping with the pandemic and the threat on our democracy. Republican extremists, some Democrats and Independents will not admit to the truth. Instead, they continue to lie, attack our institutions, government, freedoms and tear down our country.
So many have died and sacrificed for us to be free. But God has given me the strength and good health to weather these storms. Thank God for His mercy, grace, and faithfulness to survive these difficult times. I will sing and offer praise unto the Lord as He has dealt bountifully and abundantly with giving me the strength to survive. I’ve taken all of my COVID-19 vaccines and boosters without complications. Glory be to God and give Him all the praise.
Our democracy is under attack, and I thank God for giving me the strength to endure this painful stress of deceit, lies, and hurt. We are regressing with some of our freedoms. But the birth and gift of Jesus Christ gives us freedoms that can’t be taken away by hate, lies and corruption.

Advent 2022
We invite you to join us during the Advent season as we reflect on the virtues of Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love; as we anticipate Christ's birth; and prepare our hearts to receive him.
Each day a new reflection with a scripture and prayer will be posted on the Metropolitan AME Church website and social media to encourage you as we prepare.
Read along with us each day or download the book to read and reflect along with us offline.
