Advent 2023: Doppelgangers by Sister Judith Watkins

"But, we all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord are being

transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the spirit of the Lord."

2 Corinthians 3:18 NRSVUE

Fourth Day After Christmas

Last week I went to Aldi’s and as I walked across the parking lot someone hollered, "hello

Audrey." The person then said, “I am so sorry I thought you were someone else.” There are

many people unrelated to us who look like us.

Who do you look like? In 2 Corinthians "we are described as beholding as in a mirror the glory

of the Lord." When we behold His glory, we will be transformed into His likeness with ever

increasing glory, which comes from God. Our glory is developed by reading his word and

praising him.

Our daily lives should reflect love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness,

faithfulness and self-control through the Holy Spirit. This Advent season it would be amazing if

people would say " I see Jesus in you."

Prayer: Lord, help us to focus on you. Transform us to be like you. Amen.

We invite you to join us in meditation, reflection, prayer and spiritual disciplines throughout the season of Advent and beyond.

Read along with us each day or download the book to read and reflect along with us offline.
