Advent 2023: Grace and Mercy by Betty Smoot

Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.

Hebrews 4:16

December 8, 2023

God is so good. His goodness mercy and grace endureth forever. My blessings from the Lord are plentiful and abundant. I’m able to go places and do things with family and friends, take care of myself, exercise and enjoy daily walks. I thank God for giving me hope and peace in my life especially now when there is so much hate, corruption, greed, untruths and deceit in this country and across the world. God’s grace and mercy are with you when you live with righteousness and truth. God is love and kindness; not hate.

As we prepare for Advent and the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I pray that God will change the people’s hearts from hate and stone to love, kindness and truthfulness. Celebrating Advent and the birth of Jesus gives us an opportunity to reflect on Jesus and follow His ways. Then, God’s grace, mercy and love will fall upon the people and give them hope, peace and happiness. We all can live our lives without fear and enjoy God’s abundant blessings as we go about our daily lives.

Prayer: Father God, bless our hearts to be of love, compassion, kindness and truthfulness at Advent and always, that we can receive your abundant grace, mercy and blessings to live a life of peace, hope and happiness. Amen!
