“Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth.”

Family Ties - Agape
Lord, I pray for peace in families to overcome generational trauma that continues to inflict pain. I pray for the peace of mind for those who are unable to cherish our time together. Give us the strength to continue to learn and grow with those who do not honor you. Lord, give us grace for the times we messed up and the apology never happened. Give us peace to know in our hearts that no one is perfect, and we all fall short.
The spiritual understanding of agape love is that it is unconditional and selfless in nature. God loved each of us enough to send Jesus Christ to atone for our sins so we can return to live with Him for eternity. He did this knowing we would be imperfect and have weaknesses, but he loved us anyway. It is important to remember that love is primarily an action word, not an emotion.
Prayer
Dear God, in our families may we display Agape: listen, respect, be honest, and pray. Lead us not to grumble, but to display humility and, forgive. If reconciliation isn’t possible, help us to distance ourselves with gentleness. Amen.
