Live Like Jesus

Jesus made a huge impact on earth during His short time with us. He had to use resources and creativity when sharing His message. His goal was to save, and He was willing to sacrifice His life to build God’s community of followers. This type of commitment to helping others reminds me of our ancestors who lived like Jesus to impact change in a positive way. They put their lives on the line to build community and unite us to be more powerful together, creating, and in many cases demanding, opportunities for education and equality. While we see some of this today, we could always come together and do more. Many in our communities are struggling and our presence is minimal even though we have the knowledge and resources to help.

Jesus’ example was clear. He traveled on foot to make a difference. He saw a need and worked to fill the void. He even gave His life for sinners like you and me. During this Lenten season as we reflect on Jesus, we should strive to live like Him and help the people in our communities to survive and thrive.

Prayer

Dear Lord, Help us all to live like Jesus, understanding that we don’t have to wait for an opportunity to help in our communities because you’ve given us all we need to create one. Amen
