Lent 2022: Someone Knew the Lord and was Praying by Barbara Booker Wood

“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.”

-Psalm 61:1

Someone Knew the Lord and was Praying for Me

During this season, Lent 2022, we remember that God gave his only son. Jesus died for our sins so that we may have everlasting life. I reflect on this writing as I am approaching my 80th birthday. I am rejoicing that Jesus loves me and somebody ---ancestors--- had me on their mind and prayed for me even before I knew the Lord.

My life is blessed. However, there have been many ups and downs, joys and sorrows. Through it all God allowed me to stand firm, hold on and keep the faith. As I look back over my years, I can truly say that God hears and answers prayers. He has been good to me. In Romans 8: 28 we read, “And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for blessing me. Thank you for this opportunity to share a word during this Lenten season. Help me to continue to follow the path of righteousness so that I might be a blessing to others. Amen
