Greetings! May God’s love embrace you as we continue to worship, liberate and serve.

During the weekend, we look forward to your presence at communion pickup at 11 am and the WIN Action at Benning Terrace at noon on Saturday, meditations at 9 am, worship at 9:30 am, and New Members Class at 1 pm on Sunday.


During the week, we look forward to connecting with you during Morning Meditations at Metropolitan at 7 am Monday through Friday, for our Men's prayer call at 7:30 am Monday, The Launch of "Anti-Racism 4 Reals" with Rev. E. Michelle Ledder at 7 pm Monday, for Noonday, and Pastor's Study on Wednesday at noon and 7 pm.


The book we are using for Noonday and Pastor's Study is Holy Imagination: A Literary and Theological Introduction to the Whole Bible by Judy Fentress-Williams. You can purchase the book at Indiebook.org, Christianbook.com, Target, and Amazon.

The Sarah Allen Missionary Society (SAMS) has received a generous donation of turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday. The turkeys will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis and picked up at the church on Tuesday, November 23, 2021

WIN Action

Join us tomorrow Saturday, November 6th at 12 noon as we take another step toward accessing public land and affordable habitable homes. DC govt officials will be present at Benning Terrace. We need at least 50 people to join on-site at Benning Terrace and another 100 to join us via Facebook Live.


 


Communion elements will be available for pickup tomorrow Saturday, November 6, at 11 am at the church.

 


Join our very own Rev. E. Michelle Ledder as she launches her new book 'Anti-Racism 4Reals" published by Chalice Press on November 8 at 7pm. Sis. Wasaba is one of the moderators. You're invited to join the discussion with Rev. Michelle and her co-author Rev. Sheila M. Beckford.

 


The next series of New Members’ Classes continue on November 7 at 1 pm. The series is on 4 consecutive Sundays and lasts no longer than 1 hour and 15 min. If you are a new member and have not attended new member classes, and you have not received an email invite to register, please email Rev. Moya Harris at moya.harris@metropolitanamec.org

We honor all Veterans this week. We especially honor our WWII veterans Bro. Julius Cook, Amb Dawson, and Bro. Welton Doby and honor the memories of Chaplain Carroll (Capt US Navy Retired) and Col (ret.) D.R. Butler, US Army who both passed away earlier this year.

 


Last Friday night, Rev. Chris Bonner was ordained as an itinerant deacon in the AME church at the 4th District ordination service. Congratulations!

 



We celebrate with Grambling State alumna Dr. Dana A. Williams, dean of the Graduate School at Howard University, who served as the convocation speaker for Grambling’s Founders Day.
