Pastoral Concerns for the Week of November 15th, 2020

Greetings Metropolitan family and friends,

It is a joy to greet you and a pleasure to serve alongside you. Please take a moment to review the following notices as we look ahead to the week of November 15.

Weekday "Meditations with Metropolitan" continue this week from 7-7:15 am Monday through Friday. If you would like to offer a meditation or have prayer requests, email the Morning Meditations Team at prayer.metro1518@gmail.com

Noonday and Pastor’s Study continue this week, and we invite you to join us as we continue our study of Proverbs and Romans.

Join us Monday, November 16 at 6:30pm for the Youth and Family Ministry’s Intergenerational Virtual Cooking Class with Chef Dave. Be sure to add items needed for the menu to this week’s grocery list! The Zoom link for the event is below.

The Sarah Allen Missionary Society (SAMS) has received a generous donation of turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday. The turkeys are available for families in need on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a turkey, please contact Sis. Virginia Boateng at vab-59@hotmail.com.

Your giving is a wonderful expression of God’s generosity. As you know, there are three ways to give: via check mailed to Metropolitan AME Church, via credit card on the website, and via text or Cash App. To text to give, text "metro1518" to 73256; our Cash App handle is $MetropolitanAME.

Please be in prayer for all who have experienced loss recently and those who continue to experience grief. In particular we lift Bro. Donald and Sis. Tanya Craig in the passing of Sis. Tanya Craig’s brother, and the family of the late Dr. Lorraine Gillian in the passing of her mother, Mrs. Hattie Tolbert.

Please continue to pray for health, strength, and healing for Bro. Lacey Flagg, Dr. Mercedes Dickson, Rev. Aisha Karimah, Sister Ruby Joyce, Dr. Charles Curry, Deaconess Mary Burroughs, Deaconess Jeanette Spicer, and Mother Ethel Delaney Lee.

Your faithfulness continues to be a testament to our joy and resilience in these challenging times. We hope you will stay connected with us—daily for morning meditation, on Wednesdays for study, on Saturdays for Cafe MET, and on Sundays for worship.

Grace and Peace,

Bill Lamar
