During the week, Morning Meditations with Metropolitan continue at 7 am Monday through Friday, Men's Prayer Call at 7:30 am on Monday.


Noonday and Pastor’s Study at 7 pm continues on Wednesday. We continue to read Dr. Judy Fentress-Williams Holy Imagination: A Literary and Theological Introduction to the Whole Bible. Join us as we approach scripture in fresh ways. You can purchase the book at Bookshop, Target, and Amazon.

Girl Scout Sunday - March 6

Girl Scout Sunday emphasizes the powerful ties between Girls Scouting and faith. We will celebrate our own Girl Scout troops and the volunteers on March 6 during our 9:30 worship service. We honor our troops and leaders who give their time and talents to serve others. Former Girl Scouts join us!

Invitation to share Metropolitan Black History Family Stories

The Sunday morning meditations team invites the Metropolitan Family to join us in celebrating Black History. Each person/family is asked to create 1-3 minute (no more than 3 minutes! So check your time stamp) video of a family story that represents what Black History means to you and your family. What is a story from your family and community that reminds you of the history of our African Diaspora village? If you do not have a story, then please take the time to share a Black history fact, person, or quotation that you find important to lift up in this season in a 1-3 minute video or even an image! On Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Metropolitan and the Washington Interfaith Network will host a VIRTUAL March on Washington to demonstrate our power and communicate our demands for a vibrant, livable, safe, healthy, and affordable diverse city. Help us support Black homeownership in the District.

The YPD and Youth and Family Ministry are looking for students in Elementary, Middle, High School, and College to participate as Scripture readers for our Virtual Sunday Morning Worship services. Upcoming Funerals

COVID precautions will be observed. Masks required. All who enter must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination with a picture ID will be checked upon entry.

We ask that all who wish to attend all services to pre-register to help us to estimate attendance and to expedite entry. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know when you register.


Dr. Ruby Gourdine's arrangements: Friday, February 25, the family hour at 10 am, service at 11 am at Metropolitan AME Church. Preregistration will close on Thursday, February 24. On-site registration will be available until we reach our determined capacity of 200.
